How many times have you gotten an exciting new cut or style, but balk when your stylist offers to sell you the products he or she used to achieve your look? We get it. If you’re tempted to pick them up while you’re shopping at your local drugstore, be critical, and be careful. The truth is, drugstores are not LEGALLY ALLOWED to sell these products. How do they get away with this? Typically, they let the product expire, slap a new barcode on it, and put it on the shelves. In many cases they even RAISE the price of these products! This practice is so frowned upon they even coined it: The Gray Market.
Best case scenario: you’re getting the same hair care product, but it’s expired. Worst case scenario: you’re getting a product that’s counterfeit and may even be damaging your hair.
