Extensions 101: Everything You Need To Know

At Style House Salon, we offer Bellami Professional Extensions in four different methods. Bellami Professional is the authority and #1 most recognized hair extension brand in the world.

1. TAPE-IN Extensions offer two options that you can utilize in your salon: double-sided and single-sided and both are installed using adhesive tape. This method provides a secure and comfortable feel as well as easy removal and reapplication to the guest’s hair. Both are great for all hair types, especially clients with thinner hair, as tapes lay flat against the head and are virtually undetectable. Bellami’s tape-in hair extensions use a unique polyurethane adhesive tape that was developed and tested over the course of three years. Bellami’s goal was to create a secure and
comfortable weft while being worn by the guest, as well as easy removal and reapplication for the stylist.

  •  Hair Type: Cuticle Remy Hair
  • Application Time: 0.5-1.5 hours
  • Reapplication: 6-8 weeks

2. KERATIN-TIP Extensions are installed with a heating tool that bonds a silicone additive to the natural hair for free movement and naturally layered texture. This option is great for all hair types because the attachment is very small and can be customized by cutting the hair extension to be virtually undetectable. This method is also great for someone who loves to ‘pull their hair up and go’ as it provides
flexible movement. Bellami Keratin Tip (K-Tip) extensions are installed using a heating element which safely melts the Keratin Tips onto your own hair. This Keratin Tip is partially made of the same naturally occurring protein found in your hair. A silicone additive on the K-Tip helps to create a protective coating for your natural hair strands. The K-tips are bonded close to the roots of the hair, and your Bellami accredited stylist will ensure there is enough space to allow free movement of your hair which maintains a natural layered texture and feel to your hair.

  • Hair Type: Cuticle Remy Hair
  • Application Time: 0.5-1.5 hours
  • Reapplication: None

3. VOLUME WEFT Extensions are installed by creating a beaded foundation and sewing in the weft extensions for voluminous full-coverage. This method allows for easy removal and reapplication to the guest’s hair. The type is great for clients with dense hair that want full coverage of their natural hair. This application can also be used in combination with other methods and can be deconstructed to customize the density for finer hair types. Bellami Volume Wefts hair extensions are ideal for coarse, curly or thicker hair. No tape, glue or heat is needed for this volume-enhancing look. Bellami accredited stylists apply Volume Sew-in Wefts using a Bellami looping tool, Bellami beads, a micro threader, nylon based thread and a curved sewingneedle.

  • Hair Type: Cuticle Remy Hair
  • Application: 1.5-3 hours
  • Re-application: 6-9 weeks

4. Bellami I-TIP Extensions are installed with a strand-by-strand application, without using heat or glue. This is an especially great application for those with thinning hair around their hairline. Application is achieved by threading each I-Tip and a strand of hair into the Bellami looping tool, through a looping bead and then attached by clamping the bead to the client’s hair. Bellami uses high-quality copper beads with protective silicone lining which is the most gentle on hair.

  • Hair Type: Cuticle Remy Hair
  • Application: 1.5-3 hours
  • Re-application: 6-9 weeks
